On Saturday July 27, to kick start the celebrations of the Parish Feast, a mini fete was held in the school basement. The theme this year was “Some Enchanted Evening” and a pretty cherry blossom tree formed the backdrop on stage that transported one to an enchanting forest – all thanks goes to Jennifer Cardoz & her son Nimesh.

Every zone put up a stall where they sold the most delicious, mouth-watering home made goodies. This year even the Senior Citizens Club took up a table and combined a white elephant stall with their home-made sweets & treats! Raffles went around from all the zones with everyone hoping to win the stuffed chicken or an iced cake.

The youth had organised many game stalls which had everyone enjoying the latest minute-to-win-it games or the traditional hockey/basket ball games. In keeping with the theme, the highlight of the evening was a magic show that kept both the kids and adults spell-bound. Thus with magic in the air, the night ended, with anticipation of more enchanting times the following evening at ANNE FIESTA, the parish social.

Every year our parishioners look forward to celebrating our parish feast as one big happy family and so on the evening of Sunday July 28, with magic still in the air, St. Anne’s Fiesta started off with the little ones from our parish taking part in a Fancy Dress Competition dressed as “Nursery Rhymes Come Alive” followed by a singing competition for the older kids. Warren D’Silva and Jessica D’Mello compered this with perfect charm & grace. We then had Rachel Miranda & Ryan DeSousa take us through the rest of the evening-to bring some enchantment into the evening we had our kiddies dance like fairies to the tune of “Fly to your Heart” – special thanks goes to Michelle Roncon for all those dainty steps.

Lily Castellino introduced five surprise performances by our Goldies representing characters from our Incredible City of Mumbai. Dance performances by our youth was entertaining thanks to Neelam & Joanna Cardoz who choreographed them. We had plenty of fun games by Elaine Charles & Bernadette Lobo. Spot prizes and dancing competitions followed. No function is complete without the able help from behind the scenes – thanks to Felix DeSousa, Hariette D’Mello & Michele Lawrence.

Everyone enjoyed a Chinese dinner. This was really “Some Enchanted Evening” and that is thanks to Fr. Clement, Fr.Leon & the parish team.
